PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DAY 2012
TTGPA held its First Professional Services Day on Saturday 11th August, 2012 at the Professional Centre from 8 am to 6 pm.
This event is intended to form part of TTGPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility and to demonstrate volunteerism in the professional community. Additionally, this year’s event allowed the company to:
- Foster a better relationship with the Community in which it operates and
- Enabled TTGPA to participate in the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Woodbrook residents.
For this event, members of the TTGPA gave ‘freely’ of their professional services to residents of Woodbrook. The centrepiece for this occasion was a Medical Clinic. Woodbrook residents 45 years and over were the main target audience for the day. The patrons pre-registered for the medical services and the clinic catered to 125 persons. Medical services were wide-ranging from blood pressure testing, diabetic testing, cancer testing, vaccinations, eye exams for glaucoma etc., dietary advice, dental screenings and the provision of pharmaceutical samples and advice on prescription medication.
The Day also included a DJ and fun games and activities for the entire family especially the children. The cost to enter and participate in the Day was “FREE”. The exception was the sale of food and drink for attendees.
This year’s event was warmly received by patrons in spite of the inclement weather on the day which affected the attendance. In 2013, the event is planned for March/April to minimize the occurrence of heavy rains and flooding affecting the delivery of service.
