5th ANNUAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DAY 2016
The Trinidad and Tobago Group of Professional Services Limited (TTGPA) in collaboration with the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, the University of the West Indies Alumni Association T & T Chapter, His Worship Alderman George Hadeed, Mayor of Arima & the Arima Borough Corporation and the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) hosted the 5th Annual Professional Services Day on Saturday 5th March, 2016 from 9 am to 3pm. The venue was the Arima Boys’ Government School.
All professionals who are members of TTGPA were invited to volunteer their services to the Arima community free of charge. Our organization saw this as an opportunity for professionals to give back to the nation by assisting in various areas from the Medical Field to Career Guidance Services. This annual event forms part of TTGPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility and demonstrates volunteerism in the professional community.
TTGPA members together with doctors from the Trinidad & Tobago Medical Association, Chest and Heart Association of Trinidad and Tobago, North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA), Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association(North Branch),Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society (Head Office), Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association (Eastern Branch), U.W.I Faculty of Medical Sciences, U.W.I Faculty of Medical Sciences-Optometry, U.W.I Faculty of Medical Sciences – School of Dentistry and U.W.I. School of Nursing all participated in giving of their free services to the Arima residents.
Services such as basic screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, individual private doctor examinations and consultations, Immunizations, Cancer screening (breast and pap smear), Dental and Vision screening, HIV testing & counselling and Psychologists services were accessible to all attendees. The Career Guidance and consultancy consisted of services from the U.W.I Faculty of Law, Faculty Registration and Professional Advisory from member organisations.
With the participation of the business community and the overwhelming response from the Arima residents, the day was well spent and attendees utilized information and services provided advice and demonstrations. There were lots of giveaways to residents visiting the various booths and children were able to enjoy the SM Jaleel Play Park activities as well as all the goodies which were provided.
TTGPA is very thankful to all partners, sponsors, participants, members and attendees who were involved in this year’s event. We look forward to next year, which is scheduled to be held on March 25th 2017 at a venue and community to be announced soon.
