The Trinidad and Tobago Group of Professional Associations Ltd (TTGPA) in collaboration with the Department of Economics, the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus and the UWI Alumni Association –Trinidad & Tobago Chapter hosted its 4th Annual Breakfast with Professionals on Wednesday 15th June 2016, at the Marriott Courtyard, Invaders Bay, Audrey Jeffers Highway Port of Spain, from 8.00am – 11.00am.

“Breakfast with Professionals” is part of a Pre-Budget Series initiative by TTGPA and the collaborators. This event was the fourth in the Annual Budget Series. The theme this year concentrated on “Today’s Reality Tomorrow’s Success,” A lively, diverse and distinguished panel were present. These panellists consisted of Conrad Enill, (former Energy and Finance Minister), Dr. Daren Conrad (Lecturer Dept. of Economics U.W.I), Dr. Petronella Manning-Alleyne (Neonatologist), Roger Roach (Managing Director of ANSA Coatings Limited/ Director of TTMA) and Moderator Dr. Ronald Ramkissoon (Senior Economist). Key areas of interest and discussion focused on Oil and Gas Taxes – Lower for Longer, The challenges of Trinidad and Tobago – Millennials, Economic impact – infant mortality, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Business Professionals from the areas of Trade, Finance, Energy, Civil society and many others were present, as well as registered TTGPA members, TTGPA president and Council Members. The professionals were very anxious for the open floor segment, to ask questions based on the enthusiastic panel discussion, which was quite insightful and informative. Attendees asked for a longer breakfast segment as information and presentations were very realistic and to the point.

TTGPA recognises the value and importance in having an open, objective forum that provides other professionals and stakeholders to voice their concerns and suggestions. Therefore, TTGPA promises an even bigger breakfast event next year, for the 5th Annual Breakfast with Professional.
